Boston Blows Out Dallas 107-89 Behind Porzingis' Return

Boston Celtics vs. Dallas Mavericks: Game Summary (June 6, 2024)

In a thrilling start to the NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics dominated the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in Game 1 on Thursday. Led by Kristaps Porzingis' impressive return from injury, the Celtics cruised to a commanding victory.

Porzingis, who missed several games due to a calf injury, made his presence felt with 20 points, including 18 in the first half. The Latvian big man played 31 minutes and also grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Celtics took control of the game from the opening tip, building a 20-point lead by halftime. Boston's balanced attack saw four players score in double figures, including Jayson Tatum (17 points), Jaylen Brown (16 points), and Marcus Smart (15 points).

Dallas struggled to keep pace with Boston's relentless offense. Luka Dončić led the Mavericks with 19 points and 9 assists, but was held to just 6-of-18 shooting. Kyrie Irving added 17 points, but shot a dismal 4-of-16 from the field.
