Islamabad United cruised to a thrilling victory over the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Friday, securing a spot in the Eliminator 2 round.
Star all-rounder Imad Wasim led the charge for United, registering an all-around performance that played a pivotal role in the team's triumph. Wasim showcased his batting prowess with a 34-run knock off just 20 deliveries, propelling United to a competitive total of 163 for 8.
With the ball, Wasim proved equally effective, claiming 3 crucial wickets for 26 runs in his 4-over spell. His economical bowling and strike rate significantly curtailed the Gladiators' run chase, limiting them to 161 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs.
Islamabad United's victory sets the stage for their clash with the Karachi Kings in Eliminator 2 on Sunday. The winner of that match will advance to the final four, while the loser's PSL journey will come to an end.
