Cougars, Eagles clash in first major WIC battle

Two of the top teams in the Western Indiana Conference will square off for the first time this season when the undefeated West Lafayette Red Devils (2-0) travel to face the Harrison Raiders (2-0) Friday night.

The Red Devils are coming off a 42-7 win over Crawfordsville last week, while the Raiders knocked Pike, 56-35.

Both teams have high-powered offenses, so this one could be a shootout.

Tiger Cubs look to bounce back against Vikings

The Rensselaer Central Bombers (0-2) will look to get in the win column for the first time this season when they host the North Newton Spartans (1-1) Friday night.

The Bombers are coming off a 42-14 loss to Class 3A No. 2 West Central last week, while the Spartans defeated South Newton, 34-15.

Rensselaer Central will need to find a way to slow down North Newton's running game, which is averaging over 200 yards per game.

Clovers look to clip wings of unbeaten Brown County

The Southmont Mounties (2-0) will put their perfect record on the line when they travel to face the undefeated Brown County Eagles (2-0) Friday night.

The Mounties are coming off a 42-28 win over Danville, while the Eagles defeated Cascade, 28-14.

Southmont will need to find a way to contain Brown County's passing attack, which is led by quarterback Cade Sutton.
